Solana SOL withdrawal fees 25 SOL at BetWhale vs 0.00025 SOL network cost why 100000x markup

Just tried withdrawing 100 SOL from BetWhale and they're charging a 25 SOL withdrawal fee. That's $2,500 at current prices.

Checked Solscan and the actual network fee for SOL transfers is around 0.00025 SOL (about 2.5 cents). That's a 100,000x markup over actual network costs.

I've been tracking crypto casino fees across 8 brands since 2018 and this is the highest markup I've ever seen. Even during the 2021 ETH gas crisis, casinos were only marking up 10-50x.

Anyone else seeing this at BetWhale? Are there other Solana-accepting casinos with reasonable withdrawal fees?

Holy hell, 25 SOL fee? That's insane. I stick to BTC withdrawals for exactly this reason - most places charge 0.0005 BTC which is maybe 2-3x network fees, not 100,000x.

Tried Wild Casino for SOL? Last I checked they were doing 0.5 SOL withdrawals which is still high but not completely bonkers like BetWhale.

I contacted BetWhale support about their SOL fees last month. They claimed it's for "security and processing costs" but couldn't explain why SOL costs 10,000x more to process than their ETH withdrawals.

Ended up converting to USDT and withdrawing that instead. Still got hit with fees but nowhere near 25 SOL worth.

Ignition Casino does SOL withdrawals at 0.1 SOL flat fee. Still a markup but at least it's reasonable - maybe 400x network cost instead of 100,000x.

Pro tip: Check the withdrawal fees page before depositing. Some casinos list different fees for different cryptos and SOL seems to be getting gouged everywhere except a few places.

This is why I always deposit in the same crypto I plan to withdraw. Made the mistake of depositing SOL at Super Slots thinking I'd withdraw SOL, but their fee was 15 SOL.

Converted everything to LTC before withdrawal and paid maybe $3 in fees instead of $1,500. Takes an extra step but saves hundreds.

Update: Reached out to BetWhale and they said the 25 SOL fee is "subject to network conditions." When I pointed out current network fees are 0.00025 SOL, they stopped responding.

Switching to Ignition Casino for SOL. Their 0.1 SOL fee is still a 400x markup but at least it's not completely predatory like BetWhale's 100,000x markup.
