Monero XMR withdrawal fees 15 XMR at Lucky Creek vs 0.0001 XMR network cost why 150000x markup

Just checked Lucky Creek's withdrawal page and they're charging 15 XMR for Monero withdrawals. The actual network fee for XMR transactions is around 0.0001 XMR right now.

That's a 150,000x markup. At current prices (~$160/XMR), they're charging $2,400 to process a withdrawal that costs them 1.6 cents.

I've been tracking crypto casino fees across 8 brands since 2018 and this is the most extreme markup I've documented. Even Wild Casino only charges 2 XMR. Has anyone actually paid these Lucky Creek XMR fees or found a workaround?

That's insane even by crypto casino standards. I stick to BTC withdrawals specifically because most places have more reasonable fees there due to competition.

For comparison, Lucky Creek charges 0.0015 BTC (~$100) while network fees are around $3-5. Still a markup but nowhere near 150,000x.

Have you tried contacting their support about the XMR fee? Sometimes these are just outdated rates from when Monero was $10.

This is exactly why I converted all my XMR to Bitcoin before depositing. The privacy benefits of Monero aren't worth paying $2,400 in withdrawal fees.

BetWhale has similar issues with most altcoins - they seem to set withdrawal fees based on what the coin was worth years ago and never update them. Their DOGE fees are still priced like it's 2021.

Pro tip: Convert XMR to BTC or LTC within the casino if they offer internal exchanges. Some brands let you swap coins without fees before withdrawal.

If Lucky Creek doesn't have that option, deposit as XMR for privacy but always plan your exit strategy in Bitcoin. I learned this lesson the hard way with Ethereum fees in 2022.

The 150,000x markup is criminal though. These outdated fee structures are pushing players away from smaller altcoins entirely.

I actually emailed Lucky Creek about this last month. Their response was that XMR withdrawal fees are "set to cover operational costs and volatility risks."

Translation: they don't want to deal with Monero withdrawals so they price them out of existence. Same reason some casinos charge $500 wire transfer fees.

Stick to their Bitcoin or Litecoin options if you're playing there. The XMR fee is basically them saying "please don't use this option."

Thanks for the internal exchange tip Mike - that's actually brilliant. Just checked and Lucky Creek doesn't offer coin swapping, but I'll keep that in mind for other brands.

The "volatility risk" excuse from support is laughable when XMR has been more stable than most altcoins this year. This is pure profit padding disguised as risk management.

Adding this to my fee tracking spreadsheet. Going to start naming and shaming the worst offenders more publicly.
