Bitcoin ordinals causing BTC withdrawal delays 2-3 extra hours at crypto casinos since February

Been tracking BTC withdrawal times across multiple crypto casinos since the ordinals craze started. Before February 2023, most brands processed Bitcoin withdrawals within 30-60 minutes after approval. Now seeing consistent 2-3 hour delays even during low mempool periods.

The ordinals are creating constant base load on the network - even when fees drop to 10-15 sat/byte, there's still this underlying congestion that wasn't there before. Wild Casino used to be my fastest for BTC (usually 45 minutes), now it's hitting 2.5 hours regularly.

Anyone else noticing this pattern? The casinos haven't adjusted their fee rates upward significantly, but the network itself seems permanently busier. Wondering if this is the new normal or if it'll settle back down.

Definitely seeing the same thing. BetOnline was rock solid at 1 hour for BTC withdrawals through 2022, now it's consistently 2+ hours even when they approve instantly.

The ordinals thing is real - there's just more competition for block space now. Even when fees aren't spiking, you've got all these NFT mints and inscriptions creating steady traffic. It's like adding a new lane of cars to the highway permanently.

Started using Lightning at Cafe Casino for smaller amounts (under 0.01 BTC). Still instant and basically free. Might be time to push more casinos to adopt it seriously.

This explains why my Ignition withdrawals have been slower lately. Used to set my watch by their 45-minute BTC processing, now it's more like 2 hours minimum.

What's frustrating is the casinos haven't really communicated this change. They still advertise "fast Bitcoin withdrawals" but the reality has shifted. At least bump the fee rates or be transparent about the new timelines.

Considering switching more volume to Litecoin for faster settlement, even though I prefer holding BTC long-term.

The ordinals impact is real but there's another factor - more retail adoption means more Bitcoin transactions overall. Casinos are competing with Coinbase, Strike, and every other service for block space.

Super Slots actually updated their withdrawal page last month to reflect "2-4 hour typical processing" for Bitcoin instead of the old "30-90 minutes." At least they're being honest about it.

Pro tip: Check mempool.space before withdrawing. If it's showing 50+ sat/byte for next block, wait a few hours. The casino fees are usually set for 20-30 sat/byte range.

Been dealing with this at Lucky Creek too. What used to be predictable 1-hour BTC withdrawals are now 2.5-3 hours on average.

The ordinals definitely changed the game permanently. Even during "quiet" periods, there's this baseline activity that keeps minimum fees higher. It's like the network found a new equilibrium.

Started splitting withdrawals - anything under 0.005 BTC goes through Litecoin (still 15-20 minutes), larger amounts I just accept the longer Bitcoin times. Not ideal but adapting to the new reality.
