Been thinking about this after the recent exchange incidents. Most Bitcoin casinos keep player deposits in hot wallets for instant payouts, but that means funds are online and potentially vulnerable. The problem isn't just hot vs cold storage - it's operational security. A casino could have perfect cold storage but if their withdrawal approval process gets compromised, hackers can still drain hot wallets before anyone notices.

Most players don't realize that crypto casinos aren't required to segregate player funds like traditional casinos. Your BTC deposit might be mixed with operational funds, house bankroll, everything. Cold storage doesn't help if the casino goes bankrupt and your coins were never actually separated.

Ignition Casino at least publishes wallet addresses so you can verify reserves on-chain. That's more transparency than most offer. But even then, proving those addresses actually back player deposits is difficult without full audits.
