Avalanche AVAX withdrawal fees 45 AVAX at Cafe Casino vs 0.0011 AVAX network cost why 4090000% markup

Just tried to withdraw 200 AVAX from Cafe Casino and they're charging 45 AVAX as a withdrawal fee. That's $1,350 at current prices.

Checked the Avalanche C-Chain explorer and the actual network fee is 0.0011 AVAX (about $0.03). That's a 4,090,900% markup.

I've been tracking crypto fees across platforms since 2018 and this is the most extreme markup I've documented. Even their BTC fees are only 500-800% above network cost.

Anyone else seeing this with AVAX withdrawals? Is there any technical justification for a fee this high, or should I just convert to a different crypto first?

That's insane. I stick to BTC withdrawals for exactly this reason - the markups are bad enough without dealing with altcoin fee surprises.

Have you tried reaching out to their support? Sometimes these fees are outdated from when AVAX was worth way less, and they just never updated the flat fee amount.

I had a similar shock with AVAX at Wild Casino last month - they wanted 38 AVAX to withdraw 150 AVAX. Ended up converting to LTC instead, which only cost me about $12 in fees total.

The conversion spread was maybe 1-2%, so still way cheaper than paying that ridiculous AVAX fee. Took an extra day but saved over $1000.

This is why I always check withdrawal fees before depositing in any crypto. Most of these casinos set flat fees based on old token values and never adjust them.

Pro tip: Always deposit in whatever crypto has the most reasonable withdrawal fees at that specific casino. For Cafe Casino, that's usually BTC or LTC based on what I've seen posted here.

Had the exact same issue two weeks ago! Support told me the fees are "set by our payment processor" and they can't adjust them.

I converted my AVAX to USDT (small spread), then withdrew as USDT for a 25 USDT fee. Still expensive but way better than 45 AVAX.

Really wish these casinos would switch to percentage-based fees instead of these crazy flat rates.

Update: Tried the conversion route that vegas_native suggested. Cafe Casino's internal exchange charged 2.3% spread to convert AVAX to LTC, then LTC withdrawal was 0.015 LTC ($1.20).

Total cost was about $96 vs the $1,350 AVAX withdrawal fee. Still not great but manageable.

Going to document this in my fee tracking spreadsheet and probably avoid AVAX deposits at Cafe Casino going forward.
