Avalanche AVAX withdrawal fees 30 AVAX at BetOnline vs 0.01 AVAX network cost 3000x markup

Just checked BetOnline's withdrawal page and they're charging 30 AVAX for Avalanche withdrawals. Current network fee for AVAX transfers is around 0.01 AVAX according to Snowtrace.

That's a 3000x markup on actual network costs. At today's AVAX price (~$36), they're charging $1,080 to process what costs them $0.36 in actual network fees.

I've been tracking crypto casino fees across 8 brands since 2018, and this might be the highest markup I've documented. Even their Bitcoin fees are more reasonable at 0.0005 BTC.

Anyone else noticed this? Wondering if other brands are doing similar markups on AVAX or if BetOnline is an outlier here.

    Holy crap, 30 AVAX? That's insane. I stick to Bitcoin for exactly this reason - most places charge 0.0005 BTC which is still high but not that high.

    Checked Wild Casino last month and they were at 5 AVAX for withdrawals, which seemed steep but nothing like BetOnline's rate. Makes me wonder if they just copy-pasted some old fee structure from when AVAX was worth $3 instead of $36.

    I actually contacted BetOnline support about this two weeks ago. They said the fee covers "processing costs and network security" but couldn't explain why AVAX costs 100x more to process than Bitcoin.

    Ended up switching my withdrawal to Litecoin instead - their LTC fee is 0.01 LTC which is still a markup but way more reasonable. Saved me about $900 in fees.

    Really wish these casinos would be more transparent about how they calculate these fees.

    This is exactly why I always check withdrawal fees before depositing anywhere. Ignition charges 2 AVAX for withdrawals, Super Slots is at 3 AVAX, and Cafe Casino stopped offering AVAX entirely last month.

    BetOnline's 30 AVAX fee is definitely an outlier. Either they haven't updated their fee structure in years or they're deliberately trying to discourage AVAX withdrawals.

    Pro tip: Always calculate total withdrawal costs before choosing your deposit method. Sometimes a "worse" exchange rate beats getting hit with massive withdrawal fees.

    Just checked my spreadsheet - I track withdrawal fees across 12 different casinos for bonus clearing purposes. BetOnline's 30 AVAX is by far the highest I've seen.

    Most other brands are charging 1-5 AVAX, which is still a significant markup but at least somewhat reasonable. Lucky Creek charges 1.5 AVAX and Slots.lv is at 2 AVAX.

    Might be worth reaching out to BetOnline directly about this. Sometimes these fees are just outdated and they'll adjust them if enough players complain.

    Update: Just saw that BetWhale added AVAX withdrawals last week with a 4 AVAX fee. Still a markup but way more reasonable than BetOnline.

    Starting to think BetOnline either made a typo (maybe meant 3.0 AVAX instead of 30?) or they're using it as a way to push players toward their preferred withdrawal methods. Their Bitcoin and Ethereum fees are actually pretty competitive.

    Either way, definitely avoiding AVAX withdrawals there until they fix this.
